Action at Fontaine Notre Dame,  The village of Fontaine-Notre Dame lies 5 miles wets of Cambrai. The village was captured by the 51st Highland Division on the 21st November 1917, and again on the 27th November 1917 by the Guards Division,  it was then that Sgt John McAulay of the 1st battalion Scots Guards won his Victoria Cross.  it was taken again by the Germans' until re captured by the 3rd and 4th Canadian divisions and the British 57th Division.
